OnSpeX, an international provider of consumer product testing, factory inspections and advisory services for retailers and manufacturers, today officially opened a new product evaluation and testing centre in Shanghai, China. The new facility will focus on products manufactured or sourced in China destined for sale in the United States of America and Canada.

OnSpeX Shanghai is located in Qilai Industrial City and consists of a 15,000 sq ft facility located on two floors with a staff of more than 50 people. Services include product evaluation and protocol development, product specification development, and field evaluation of production, as well as consulting services, translation services and data analytics. It is also a key location for OnSpeX’s unique Joint Service Offering Program for manufacturers seeking both product evaluation from OnSpeX and certification services from CSA International.  Both OnSpeX and CSA International are business divisions of CSA Group.

“This new facility provides significant value to our retailing and manufacturing clients sourcing or manufacturing products in China that are destined for North American markets,” said Randall W. Luecke, President, CSA International and OnSpeX. “Our Shanghai operations provide OnSpeX with the ability to design product performance criteria and test protocols locally, test and evaluate products against these protocols, inspect and evaluate production pre-shipment, consult on product design, and write product specifications for our clients.”

OnSpeX offers expertise in a wide range of sectors, including plumbing products, electrical and gas appliances, power tools, and personal protective equipment. The new facility allows OnSpeX to offer a broader range services for products including: non-power tools; furniture; office supplies (paper, pens, pencils, desk accessories, etc.); paint and applicators; adhesives and abrasives; adhesive tapes; batteries; and lawn and garden products.
