For three days Toronto will be the centre of the product safety world
Toronto, – October 26, 2009 – CSA Group President and CEO Ash Sahi will address the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization's (ICPHSO) sixth annual International Meeting and Training Symposium with a call to stakeholders to work together to create a better, safer and more sustainable world through improvements in worldwide product safety.
With the theme of "International Cooperation on Product Safety," the symposium will be held at the Sheraton Centre in downtown Toronto from October 26 to 28. CSA Standards is co-hosting the event with Health Canada.
Ash Sahi will join consumer product safety professionals from around the world – including leading executives from various CSA Group divisions – to exchange information and discuss product safety acts and enhanced regulations at national and international levels.
"Enormous changes in the global economy, escalating pressure on our environment, advances in technology and global supply chains, all have significant implications for and connections to product safety," says Mr. Sahi. "It is only through systematic and sustained global cooperation, such as the ICPHSO meeting, that we can proactively address consumer product safety."
The ICPHSO symposium brings together international leaders from legislative bodies and administrative authorities. They will share the latest information and trends on the development and provisions for consumer product safety.
CSA Group is actively involved in addressing product safety issues through the development of standards, testing and certification programs, product performance evaluations, as well as working with regulators and law enforcement agencies to promote consumer safety throughout North America and globally.
